Dental implants have now decades of evidence-based research and can provide a robust and effective solution to replacing your missing teeth.
A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth using an artificial titanium root, placed in your bone, which will support replacement teeth like crowns, dentures, and bridges. Unlike other prosthetic treatments that involve artificial tooth placement, implants are the closest alternative to a natural tooth in their structure.
If you have a missing tooth, this is replaced with a titanium screw-like device that is implanted into the upper or lower jawbone. Although this treatment may sound drastic, it is now a relatively straightforward procedure and often quicker than some routine dentistry!
In the first instance, you will have an initial chat and full consultation with our implantologist, which will involve study models, radiographs, CT scans and photographs.
A treatment plan will be drafted and sent to you detailing the treatment, pros and cons, alternative options and associated costs such that you are fully informed and understand the process.
During the first phase of treatment, the titanium implant will be placed, and we wait 8-12 weeks for the implant to fully integrate with the bone. The second phase will involve placing a natural-looking dental crown which will be attached to the implant.
We now have a fully functional and aesthetic tooth replacement which will hopefully last many years!
