Veneers can create that “Hollywood Smile” you are looking for!
We custom design all our veneers at New River Dental, handcrafted by the UK’s top ceramicists.
What are Veneers?
Veneers are thin, tooth-coloured porcelain shells that are bonded to the front of your natural teeth. Our veneers are custom made for a unique finish and come in a variety of shades for your desired smile.
How are veneers used?
Veneers are incredibly versatile, making them a popular choice for those wishing to make changes to their smile through cosmetic treatments and smile makeovers. They can be used as a solution to cover discoloured teeth, crooked teeth and close unwanted spaces between teeth.
What are veneers made from?
Veneers are commonly made from porcelain and have characteristics that make them suitable for dental use.
Porcelain is highly durable and stain-resistant. It is non-porous, so it does not stain easily but can be challenging to repair if breakages occur. In contrast, composite material is relatively easy to repair but is more susceptible to staining.
What happens during the procedure?
In the first instance, we will sit down with you to ensure we understand the style and smile goals you are aiming for. We can help with this initial stage by creating a trial mock-up of the proposed smile design and show you “live” in your own mouth the outcome we can expect.
The next stage will be to prepare the teeth. This involves gently and minimally shaping the front of the teeth to accommodate the porcelain veneers. We will either take moulds or scans of the prepared teeth for our ceramicists to start working their magic!
The final stage will involve delicately bonding the veneers to the teeth, and by the end, you will have the smile you have always wanted!
How long do veneers last?
With a good oral hygiene routine and the absence of destructive habits, veneers should last 10-15 years.
